Well, hello there.
My name is Larry Hinkle, the least famous author you've never heard of. As you can tell from the site's poorly designed layout and functionality, I'm also an advertising copywriter by trade.
When I'm not writing ads, I like to write horror and science fiction stories. (The two genres that actually pay less than advertising, of course.)
I’m an active member of the HWA (my short stories have made the Preliminary Stoker ballot in 2020 and 2022); a graduate of Fright Club and the Author's Journey program from Crystal Lake Publishing; an HWA mentee; and a survivor of the Borderlands Writers Bootcamp.
Check out my debut collection, The Space Between, from Trepidatio Publishing.
PRESS
Not a lot of people have said not a lot of things about me. Of those who have, one of my favorites is this, from the Grim Reader's review of my story "Meat Cute" in Red Room Magazine: "Larry Hinkle’s flash piece is the sort of story Jeffrey Dahmer would enjoy reading…I’ll leave it at that."
"In this issue, Larry Hinkle’s piece is perhaps the shortest story we’ve published yet. However, the punch he packs in 2,000 words is very much worth the read."
Brendon Taylor,
Deep Magic
"Things get a little gruesome from there, so fair warning: this is pure horror."
Ken Brosky,
"Hinkle knows how to bring all your childhood
fears to life."
Tom Deady,
